Three Social Media Strategies That Will Grow Traffic to Your Website
If I ask you the number one thing you need for your blog to make it profitable, what would you answer? My guess is: How to grow TRAFFIC!

And honestly, that is the most important thing because without it, you won’t have sales.
I have good news for you: You can grow traffic very quickly. As early as tomorrow. All you need to do is put in a bit of work. Just be warned that if your content is no good this won’t work. You should have something interesting to say and you should know how write to keep your readers’ interest.
First make sure you have a solid foundation: Your magnet offer should be in place and should capture your reader’s email address with it. And your autoresponder should be in place with messages set up that would nurture your prospects.
Once you have a good magnet offer, a way to capture your readers’ name and email address, and you have your email autoresponder set up, you are ready to start promoting.
You don’t need to pay for traffic. Social Media has billions of people who would want to read your blog.
Here are some strategies to get traffic:
1) Find 15-20 Online Communities that you can join
You have to know your ideal reader for this one: Who are they? What do they love to read? What do they need? Where do they hang out in large numbers?
Here are some places to look:
- Facebook Groups – There are lots of communities on Facebook. You find them by searching for “keyword” and “group” and you will find groups that you can join.
- LinkedIn has groups as well. Also search by keyword.
- Google +
- Other people’s blogs that are similar to yours
You will probably find most of the communities you want to join on Facebook. However, do look on Google+ and LinkedIn as well. Both also have great communities that you can join.
The most important thing is to find 15 – 20 communities where you can meet people and also be able to promote. Most communities have an “Ad day” or a “Promote” day where you can promote in that thread.
The other way you can get traffic is to pay for ads on one of these Social Media sites. You can also guest post on someone’s blog.
2) Promote on Social Media
Here are some points on three of the top Social Media sites:
Groups are for creating relationships and you need to join three or four groups for this reason. There are groups on Facebook that are only for promotions and you are not doing anything wrong if you use them. Join about 10. Just make sure that you don’t exceed 5 posts to groups per day. You don’t want to go to Facebook Jail, believe me.
Make sure to give as much as you take: Scroll through the posts on the groups and read and comment on a couple.

Here is how to promote in Twitter: Follow people who are interested in your niche. That’s it really. You should find influencer accounts and then follow their followers. Now this sounds easy but it is not. You follow say 1000 the first day, and another 1000 the second day. Don’t go over the 1000 a day limit. With Twitter’s 40% follow back rate, you will have your first 800 followers. Now unfollow those who didn’t follow you, and repeat the process.
The way you can get traffic to your blog is by setting up an automatic Direct Message. You will have to use a program for this. In the message you can thank them for following you and give a link to your blog to a post that they may find interesting. It works.
Tweet or retweet one of your blog post links regularly. You can even pin a popular article on your profile.

It is also easy and time consuming to promote your business on Pinterest. Set up a business account with at least 10 boards. Obviously your photos and graphics need to be good.
You get your followers the same way as Twitter. You can pin to others who aren’t following you on Group Boards. So do join or create group boards and make sure you pin only 1 – 2 pins to these boards per day.
3) Comment on Blogs
When you comment on blogs you have the potential to build strong relationships with other experts in your niche with instant traffic to your blog. Make sure your comment is valuable. A valuable comment first gives a greeting. Next you appreciate something they wrote. Then you provide value, and you promise something.
For example, you can write:
Hi John, Thank you for a great article on ________, it made me think because ________. You made three points. I think there may be a fourth which is _____________. Thank you again for a thought provoking article. I will definitely come back to read some more.
So there you have it: Three strategies to grow your traffic which you can start implementing today. There are more strategies which we may get to later. Of course it is hard work. Nobody said it wasn’t. At least it is not too difficult.
